Soccer Tournament

We experienced our first soccer tournament on Saturday. A couple of friends from B's soccer team decided to play in a 3 x 3 tournament and asked B to join in. It was crazy. Kids and parents and soccer fields everywhere.

It was a not a good day for the PST06 team.  The coach's son was out in the first half of the first game.  He had hurt his leg earlier in the week and hid it from his mother so he could play in the tournament.  His limping became obvious as soon as he tried to play.  The other 3 boys had to play the rest of the games.

In each of the next three games, one of the boys got hurt and came out crying.  T went in and stood in front of the goal doing his best.  In the last game, B got hit in the face with the ball on a kick in front of the goal.  He came out bawling & bleeding where his teeth fell out.  Luckily they were already out or they would have been.  Plus his thumb was jammed when he tried to block the ball from hitting his face. Poor T tried to go stand in for him but couldn't do it, so it went down to 2 on 2 instead. B took a couple of deep breaths and sucked it up.  He went back in the for the last 4 minutes of the game.  As soon as the ref blew the whistle, he started crying again and walked off the field. He was done with soccer for the day.
