Jumbotron

We went to the Rangers game on Sunday. I wasn't really up to it, but the cousins & some other friends were going, so I let DH talk me into it.

Our seats were a couple of sections over from the cousins but eventually we made our way over to sit with them. My oldest niece and her friends left to walk around. While they were there, a couple of women sat in their seats. Sister #2 told them that the teenagers were sitting there, but they could stay there until they came back. When M & her friends showed up, my sister turned around and asked them to move. One of the women got testy and asked to show her the tickets to prove that they had those seats.

Next thing I know, Sister #2 is standing up ready to fight. She told them she wouldn't show them the tickets because she didn't have too. Those were not their seats, she had told them they would have to move, the usher had told them they would have to move and they needed to move. The testy lady stood up and told her to back off or something to that effect. I thought punches where going to fly.

The usher came down right afterwards and apologized for the incident. She felt bad about the confrontation so to make up for it, she had the camera girl come to our section in the middle of the 5th.

I wasn't expecting her the second time so I hardly had a chance to pull my camera back out to take the picture. I didn't zoom in well. B & cousin O were on right before J but that picture didn't turn out at all.

We all had a fun time, but my kids got mad. We left at the bottom of the 9th, with the game tied 3-3. It was almost 10 and J had "Leap into 1st grade" camp then next morning. The cousins and the friends stayed to the bottom of the 12th when the Rangers had a walk off homerun. I wish we had stayed to see it, but it was nice to be watch them win, turn off the light and go to sleep.

Vacation

We just got home from a vacation. We spent a couple of days in Eureka Springs, Arkansas with the ILs. We toured a haunted mansion with a very long winded, long pausing tour guide. It was very hot and I discovered that I am not a "open" person. So no ghosts or even chills for me.

We went kayaking & canoeing down the Kings River.

After Eureka, we headed to the lake. We spent the week doing typical lake things.

4th of July Parade

We normally go to the lake for the 4th but not this year. Instead we joined my sister for her annual neighborhood 4th of July parade. The kids have always heard about the parade so they were excited to get to participate. We went to the dollar store for bike decorating supplies. Everyone had a great time.

Birthday party with the girls

When we talk about the girls at our house, we're referring to the American Girl dolls. A has 4, Kaya, Felicity, Kirsten & Chrissa. I never thought that MY child would own 4 AG dolls, that is way to excessive and indulgent. However, A loves the girls. She spends most of her time playing with them or making things for them. She actually uses them, they don't just sit on a shelf. So when the ILs wanted to get her the 4th for her birthday I was okay with it and glad that it wasn't me paying for it.

A has spent the last month planning the birthday party for Chrissa. She make party favors, she devised party games, she made invitations. Her plan was to invite her cousins E and M and her friend from school. Well, her friend from school was out of town and E stated that she did not want her little sister to come. This afternoon the two cousins and the 7 girls had their party.

A & E made an Easy Bake Oven cake for the girls and I made a chocolate cake for A & E. They sang happy birthday and watched the Chrissa movie again. They ran out of time for the doll charades they were suppose to play but I think they had fun none the less.

The end of the carrots

We pulled the rest of the carrots. I again proved that I am not a carrot farmer. We were suppose to thin the carrots to 1 inch apart. What looked like one carrot plant to me was actual a couple of plants together which produced skinny carrots no bigger than a match stick. Another handful were short and stubby like the first carrot we pulled. Only one of them came out looking normal.

I tried to get the kids to do a "What's up, Doc?" pose but they had no idea what I was talking about.

He had fun, but Dh was not that amused.
