Summer in a sandwich

I picked a couple of slicing tomatoes on the 4th. They have been sitting on counter 'redding' up a bit.

Today for lunch we had summer in a sandwich, BLTs with fresh tomatoes. Yum, yum, yum!

We have two more tomatoes on the vine but not many more growing. Too darn hot this summer. The large grape/small roma plant is still producing well. They are delicious to pop in your mouth, but nothing compares to a fresh slice of tomato.

The garden is looking okay. It had been darn hot, temps in the high 90s and 100s. The cucumber plant is thriving but the cucumbers themselves are shriveling up. The snow peas dried up as soon as it hit 96. The basil & oregano are bolting and getting leggy.

Jalapenos are duplicating by the minute. B's sunflowers are beautiful.

At least some plants are enjoying the heat.
